efficiently.

 A Proper Workout Schedule

The Warm-up

Stretching exercises are essential.

Cardiovascular Workout

Select an aerobic activity to be performed continuously for 20 minutes.

Some examples are jogging, walking, swimming, cycling, rope jumping, and cross-country skiing

Muscular Strength and Endurance

Lifting weights, strength training  (various exercises, 3 sets, 8 – 12 repetitions, 3 – 4 days per

week).   Allow 48 hours rest for a muscle group.

The Cool Down

Cool-down to provide a transition between vigorous aerobic work and a less active state.

Without a gradual cool-down the blood (which is pooled in the extremities immediately after an

aerobic workout) does not return to the heart as quickly or efficiently.

Stopping motionless could result in dizziness, fainting or stress on the heart.
